B&V Works with Dartmouth Tuck MBA Program Students on Digital Platform Strategy
Burmester & Vogel sponsored a course project with MBA students from Dartmouth’s Thayer School of Engineering.
The Project
Under Professor Geoff Parker’s guidance, the student team examined digital transformation opportunities in maritime commerce. The project involved analyzing platform design, positioning, pricing and ways to leverage B&V’s network effects.
How It Started
The collaboration emerged from MIT Sloan’s 10th Annual Digital Economy Summit, where we connected with academic researchers focused on platform economics.
The Team
The student team included:
- Tommy Tran
- Devu Nair
- Katie Aldrich
- Ramesh Padmashri
- Kent Chong
They worked closely with B&V and participating clients to develop their recommendations on maritime platform strategy.
Value of Academic Partnership
Working with top MBA students brings fresh perspectives to our strategic planning. Their research on platform dynamics and network effects helps inform how we grow our marketplace and create value for all participants in the demurrage ecosystem.
