Over the past academic semester, Burmester & Vogel had a unique opportunity to sponsor a course project on digital platform strategy with a team of graduate and MBA students from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth.
Working closely with B&V and clients who participated in the project, the Dartmouth project team from Professor Geoff Parker’s class analyzed the digital transformation opportunity in maritime and shared recommendations on platform design, positioning, pricing and ways to leverage B&V's network effects.
The B&V/Dartmouth collaboration on Digital Platform Strategies emerged out of the MIT Sloan School of Management’s 10th Annual MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy Summit last summer. Special thanks to the students involved in the project: Tommy Tran, Devu Nair, Katie Aldrich, Ramesh Padmashri, and Kent Chong.
